Why this page is a placeholder

Terms of service describe an exchange. No money has changed hands, nothing has shipped, and nobody has an account, so the exchange hasn't happened yet. Writing the clauses now would mean drafting warranties, service levels and liability caps for a product with no price, and every one of those would be fiction somebody could quote back to me.

What Outis is, and what it isn't

Outis is an authorization control. It records who authorized what, and it makes some categories of unauthorized action substantially harder by requiring a physical key turn plus a code that arrived out of band.

It isn't a guarantee that an action was correct, that a payload was truthful, or that the people who turned their keys were entitled to. It also isn't a compliance certification. It can produce evidence that supports an audit; it can't make you compliant with anything on its own, and nobody should tell you otherwise.

What nothing on this site promises

If a page here appears to promise one of these, that page is a mistake and I'd like to know about it.

• A price, for hardware or for the service.
• A ship date, or that anything ships at all.
• A warranty term, a return window, or a spare parts policy.
• An uptime figure, a support response time, or a service level of any kind.
• A certification, an audit result, or a third-party attestation.

What is true today

• This website is information about a project in progress.
• The preorder form stores nothing, because it has no endpoint behind it.
• No payment method is collected anywhere on this site.

When this changes

A real agreement will arrive as its own document, with an effective date, and it will replace this page rather than being bolted onto it. If you're ever asked to accept terms, you'll be asked explicitly, and you'll be able to read them first.
